America’s longest-running Broadway musical came to Porirua!
From 8–18 April, Chicago sizzled onto the stage at Pātaka Art + Museum, bringing the glamour, grit, and scandal of the Roaring Twenties to life.
Set in a world of jazz, justice, and celebrity obsession, Chicago tells the razor-sharp story of ambitious chorus girl Roxie Hart and her fierce cell-block rival Velma Kelly, as they battle for fame, freedom, and survival while facing the threat of death row. Packed with murder, mystery, corruption, greed — and all that jazz — this iconic musical is as relevant and thrilling today as ever.
Presented by Porirua Little Theatre, this production crackles with bold choreography, unforgettable music, and biting satire.
Chicago is presented by arrangement with Origin Theatrical on behalf of Samuel French Ltd, a Concord Theatricals Company. Based on the play by Maurine Dallas Watkins, with script adaptation by David Thompson, music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and the unmistakable theatrical style of Bob Fosse.
